Expert Speaker

Douglas Twenefour, RD MPhil PG Dip

Deputy Head of Care, Diabetes UK
Douglas Twenefour is the Deputy Head of Care at Diabetes UK. As a Specialist Dietitian, his specialist interest is in developing evidence-based guidelines. Douglas co-chaired the Diabetes UK 2018 nutrition guidelines for the prevention and management of diabetes. He currently co-chairs the joint Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN)/ Diabetes UK/ NHS working group reviewing the evidence to inform a national position on the use of low carbohydrate diets in people with Type 2 diabetes.
He enjoys teaching, and is an Associate Lecturer at the London Metropolitan University. Douglas has also worked with a number of international Universities and academic institutions as a lecturer, consultant and a researcher.
